Smart Card Status Check through SMS

1. Check with Form Number (Slip Number)

To check your smart card status through SMS, you will need to open the message option on your mobile phone. Then, you will need to type the following message:

SC [Space] F [Space] From_Number [Space] D [Space] Date_of_Birth(YYY-MM-DD)

Once you have typed the message, you will need to send it to the following number:

After a few moments, you will receive a reply SMS with the current status of your smart card.

Here are two ways you can check the status of your smart national identity card. If you already have a national identity card, you can check the status using your national identity card number. If you are a new voter, you can check the status using the form number or slip number you received when you applied for your voter registration.

(1) First, you need to enter your national identity card number or voter slip form number in the first box shown in the above image. Remember that those with 13-digit national identity card numbers should use a 17-digit national identity card number by adding the year of birth before the national identity card number. Those with 10-digit or 17-digit national identity card numbers can use the national identity card as it is.

(2) Then, you need to enter your date of birth as it appears on your national identity card in the second box. In this box, you need to enter the date, month, and year. In the last box, you need to fill in the CAPTCHA. After typing the CAPTCHA, you need to click on the “সাবমিট” button. If all the information you have provided is correct, you will be able to see the status of your smart card as shown in the image below:

How to Get a Smart Card for Old Voters

Old voters will need to re-scan 10 fingerprints and eye iris to get their smart card at the earliest. After that their smart card will be ready for printing. If old voters want to get smart card now then some process has to be completed. Old voters can get a smart card by following these steps:

  1. Bring a photocopy of your old ID card to your local election office.
  2. Have the office officer sign the photocopy and bring it, along with any other documents provided by the election office, to the Dhaka Election Training Institute.
  3. Your biometric and other information will be verified at the institute, and you will be given a slip.
  4. Bring the slip back to your local election office.

Once your smart card is ready, you can collect it from the election office.
