Narrated by Anas (RA):

When the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived in Madinah, he saw that the people of Madinah were celebrating two Eids. Seeing that, he said, (in ignorance) you had two days to play sports. Instead of that day, Allah has given you two good days; The days of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azhar.’ (Abu Dawud 1136, Nasa’i 1556)
